In 1897, during a World Exhibition in the Park of Tervuren, 267 Congolese people were exhibited to the public as part of a human zoo. Seven of them lost their lives.
Research into the oldest living trees in the park, which had witnessed these dehumanizing events, led us to the lime trees near the Saint Hubert Chapel.
We encountered one of these lime trees as a witness and made an imprint of it, as a lasting act of remembrance.
