During an artist residency in Finland, I set out to deepen an ongoing relationship with the moon. Gradually, that relationship expanded. Stones, water, trees and lichen began to reveal themselves not as landscape, but as relational presences, each carrying their own rhythms, memories and forms of wisdom.
Standing in a landscape once submerged beneath ancient waters, I experienced deep time not only as a connection to a distant past, but also as an unsettling awareness of possible futures. What emerged was a profound ecological grief, inseparable from a growing sense of belonging to the same living, mineral world.
The works that grew from this experience explore relationships rather than representations. They invite a slower way of seeing, where the boundaries between body and landscape, memory and matter, human and more-than-human become gently porous.
